A man has been charged after a woman was left with a serious head injury in a car crash.

Police were called to the junction of Quaker Lane and Sewardstone Street in Waltham Abbey at around 6.45pm on Friday (January 19).

Officers found a woman at the scene, who was later taken to hospital for treatment on a fractured skull.

Jordan Farrell, 30, of Sewardstone Street, Waltham Abbey has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after a collision, failing to report a collision, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance.

He was due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday, January 23).

Essex Police is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, the moments leading up to it, or has dash cam footage from the time, to contact officers.
