This Feburary half term there will be a whole host of children’s entertainment and workshops at the Queen’s Theatre in Hornchurch.

For those that love getting creative the theatre is hosting two tutor-led Create & Play Mornings throughout the week – Surprising Superheroes on Monday (Feb 12) and Animal Antics on Wednesday (Feb 14).

Little ones aged four to six will be able to use their imagination and enjoy two hours of creative fun involving drama games, storytelling and craft activities. Workshops start at 10am.

Youngsters who simply can’t sit still can keep active by taking part in a Street Dance Masterclass on Tuesday, February 13. They’ll have great fun learning hip hop dance skills from an industry professional. This two-hour masterclass starts at 10am for children aged six to nine years and 1pm for children aged 10 to 14-years.

Children who love musicals have the opportunity to participate in a two-hour Musical Theatre Masterclass on Thursday (Feb 15).

They will sing and dance their way through one of their favourite musical numbers and learn a full routine from a West End show. This masterclass runs from 10am to 12pm for children aged six to nine years and from 1pm to 3pm for 10 to 14year-olds.

Celebrated Essex storyteller Mike Dodsworth brings the popular story The Princess and the Pea to life on Saturday, February 17 at 10am. He creatively animates the world and characters with lots of imagination and fun.

Finally, there will be a mix of magic and balloon-modelling from one of the UK’s finest magicians and balloon artists. Trevor Cline’s Amazing Magic and Balloons will be performing in the foyer on Saturday (Feb 17) at 11.30am.
