Good morning and happy Shrove Tuesday. Here is what you need to know in order to beat the traffic this morning.

Weather

It will be overcast first thing this morning, with a small amount of rain coming at 9am. The wet weather will continue until about 6pm, when temperatures will drop to three degrees.

Traffic

The M11 is largely clear except for a short stretch southbound of Woodford Bridge where speeds of 20mph have led to delays of eight minutes. Further north up the road cars are slowing as they travel past Debden.

There are minor delays in Redbridge along the A12 towards the underground station and up the north circular.

Traffic is starting to build up on the junction between Ongar and Aldridge Road in Aldridge.

Tube

There are minor delays on the Circle Line which is running clockwise only, due to a signal failure at Earl's Court on the District line.

The District Line is running no tubes between South Kensington and Ealing Broadway, between Richmond and Wimbledon and between Earl's Court and Edgware Road. Severe delays are expected on the rest of the line due to a signal failure at Earl's Court. The line should be avoided where possible. Tickets are being accepted on London Buses, South Western Railway, C2C and Great Western Railway.

A good service is operating on all other lines.
