QUIZZERS claimed a variety of prizes and raised more than £1,000 while flexing their grey matter.
The South Woodford Society tested communities’ brains and teamwork at the Memorial Hall on Friday, February 9, raising £1,137.05 in the process.
A total of £227.41 will go to Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford Green, which the society supports.
Families, friends, neighbours and councillors were tested on everything from football to Greek mythology at the South Woodford venue.
Maggy Farrow, a South Woodford Society committee member, hailed the organisation’s third annual quiz a success.
She says: “It went really well. It was very nice to be in the Memorial Hall, which was more spacious and enabled us to accommodate many more quizzers than in previous years.
“It was a lot of fun as answers were dredged up from somewhere.”
Prizes included a Fortnum and Mason wine hamper donated by Theydons Estate Agents, shopping vouchers from Waitrose and meals from Soul Stop Café and Lily’s Indulgence.
