A FORMER X-Factor winner held a song-writing workshop for sick children.
Leona Lewis, winner of the third series of the ITV1 reality show, surprised five young members of the Teenage Cancer Group at Haven House’s Holistic Care Centre.
Teenagers at the Woodford Green hospice learned song-writing tips from Ms Lewis and developed lyrics for their demo track.
Jessica Wilson, who is from Chingford, thoroughly enjoyed Ms Lewis’s visit on Monday, February 12.
The 18-year-old said: “It was an amazing experience to spend time with Leona and we are really grateful she came to visit Haven House.
“When she spoke about the importance of taking time out to reflect on things, like in song-writing, but also in life, I found that useful.”
Roxanne Scott, music therapist at Haven House said: “The teenagers have already come up with all of the musical ideas which we have turned into a demo track and we hope to record the vocals for the song in the next few months.”
