It is welcomed that Whipps Cross Hospital is being redeveloped, however, no extra beds for emergency admissions have been promised for the new building.
Queens Hospital is struggling to cope now, with the December 2017 four-hour A&E waits at 72.5%.
Meanwhile, local NHS managers are planning to green light plans to build a housing estate on the King George Hospital site at their meeting of March 7 at King George Hospital.
We say north east London needs more beds to cope with emergency admissions and it would be wrong to remove the option of providing more acute beds at King George.
An extension of King George would be bound to relieve pressures on both Whipps and Queens.
