A photographer’s “stunning” shot of Venice sealed first prize in a society’s monthly competition.
David Tyrrell’s photograph of the Rialto Bridge was judged to be the best entry in the Woodford and Wanstead Photographic Society’s February contest.
Allison Jenkins, a licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society, chose Mr Tyrrell’s entry from a varied range of subject matter.
Mr Tyrrell says: “After a nice evening meal I decided to revisit the Rialto Bridge at midnight. I knew it would be quiet and with the recent rain the reflections on the ground coupled with the street lighting gave the whole scene a magical feel.”
Ms Jenkins says: "This is the second time I have judged at Woodford and Wanstead Photographic Society and am impressed with the high standard of photography.
“However, the wonderful night shot of the Rialto Bridge in Venice by David Tyrrell was stunning.”
