The Save our Square campaign who are fighting plans to build four high-rise tower block in Walthamstow Town Square are looking for people to take part in an online survey.

Campaigners say they believe Waltham Forest deserves much better than the proposal passed by the council’s planning committee in December and want to know what the public think.

The group say they are concerned one third of the green space in the square will be lost and the majority of the flats in the blocks will not be affordable for local families.

They have enlisted the help of architects to create a different plan which aims to improve the green space and replace the blocks with low-rise buildings of affordable housing.

On Wednesday campaigners will gather outside developers Capital & Regional’s headquarters in Westminster to protest against the plans.
