Residents will be concerned that Redbridge Council raked in £138,000 from traffic fines from a single street.

Churchfields Conservatives agree with residents that the signage isn’t clear, so who is being caught out by these fines? If the gate and fines are designed to keep traffic out of the area, then closing the gate would solve that issue.

Leaving the gate open only benefits council coffers. Is this deliberate? Redbridge Labour has form when it comes to the operation of its traffic fines.

The council has some questions to answer when it comes to the operation of fines in the area.

It is simply unfair if local residents are being made to pay the price, without any tangible benefit to them, especially when Woodford is so low down the priorities of the Ilford-focused Labour party.
