A teenager has been stabbed following an altercation outside a tube station, Scotland Yard has said.

Police were called to Snakes Lane East, next to Woodford station, at around 5.30pm on Thursday to respond to reports a man had been attacked.

Officers investigating the incident say two teenage males are thought to have been approached by another group of teenagers, who asked where they were from.

The victim, understood to be 18 years old, was then stabbed before the gang fled in the direction of St Barnabas Road.

The injured teenager has been taken to an east London hospital, although his condition is currently unknown.

No arrest have been made. Enquiries continue.
