A teenager has become the second person arrested on suspicion of murder over a fatal stabbing in Walthamstow this week.

Police investigating the death of a 41-year-old man in Vallentin Road on Monday have now detained a 17-year-old boy.

He was taken to an east London police station, where he remains in police custody.

Emergency services were called to Vallentine Road at almost 10pm on Monday to respond to reports of a stabbing.

Treatment was administered to an injured 41-year-old man who was found at the scene, but he was pronounced dead at 10.55pm.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

She was taken to an east London police station, but has subsequently been released on bail to a date in April.

The victim's next of kin have been informed, although formal identification has yet to take place.

A port-mortem examination held on Tuesday gave the man's cause of death as stab injuries.
