A man who abused a nine-year-old girl in the 70s has been jailed.
Lawrence Graham, of High Road, South Woodford, sexually assaulted the child between 1976 and 1977.
The 53-year-old was sentenced for two counts of indecent assault at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday.
He is also subject to a ten-year notification requirement.
He pleaded guilty to both counts on Monday, 5 February 2018.
In August 2016 the victim came forward to police to report the historic sexual abuse.
Detective Constable Kelly Smith, of the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command, said: “I thank the victim for having the bravery to come forward and tell her story which must have been extremely difficult.
"I want this sentence to reassure other victims that the Met will always fully investigate these allegations, no matter how long ago they happened.”
