Wondering how you’ll keep the kids entertained over the May bank holiday weekend?

The Superhero and Princess Weekend at Lee Valley Park Farms in Stubbins Hall Lane, Waltham Abbey could be just the thing.

The three-day event from Saturday May 5 to 7 May will feature shows to reveal some of the natural ‘superpowers’ possessed by the farm’s favourite animals and how these are used in the wild.

Meerkats for example have developed immunity to the venom of scorpions, making them resistant to stings.

Youngsters who arrive dressed as their favourite superhero or princess will be rewarded with a ticket for fee entry for their next trip.

The event will run daily from 10am to 5pm and include arts and crafts workshops, face-painting and a dance-off.

Kate Chaplin, duty manager at Lee Valley Park Farms said: “Our Super Hero and Princess Weekend aims to show our visitors that everyone – including our animals – has a strength or something they’re good at, regardless of their size or how they look.

“We combined some of favourite characters with a selection of exciting activities to entertain everybody during the event.

“We hope to see our youngest visitors rocking their favourite outfits, be it a simple mask and cape, sparkly tiara or fairy wings.”

Entry is £10 each for both adults and children.
