VOLUNTEERS are sought to help elderly people enjoy tea-parties.
Contact the Elderly helps socially isolated older people reconnect with their community through the medium of tea, cake and conversation.
It is appealing to Epping Forest residents to sign up as volunteer drivers, giving an hour or two a month taking people to and from tea parties,
Georgina Sells, the charity's Epping Forest support officer, said: “We’ve been looking after socially isolated members of our community for years now.
“We’re calling on anyone in our community who can spare a couple of hours one Sunday a month to help out. It’s so much fun for everyone involved, and really makes a difference to the lives of lonely older people in our community.
"It would be such a shame if we had to roll back our service in the area because of a lack of volunteers.”
