A FUNDRAISING clay pigeon shoot is being held in honour of a cancer victim.

On May 18 Essex Shooting Ground in Ongar will host a shoot in support of Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and in memory of Richard Dale.

Born and bred in Essex, Mr Dale was a sales executive at a logistics company who was struck down by bone cancer less than two years after being diagnosed.

He was cared for with the help of the Chelmsford based charity during his final months.

Fundraiser Louise Jennings-Hoole said: "Richard was a special friend to many people.

"He was always happy, always making everyone laugh, he really cared about the people around him and loved his family dearly.

"Richard battled so bravely against his illness, still smiling and telling funny stories for as long as he was able. He is really missed by so many and of course, especially by his wife Michelle, children and family members."

Contact the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity on 01245 380719 to sign up to the shoot or go to www.justgiving.com/fundraising/inmemoryofricharddale to donate.
