A doctor will give a talk on male circumcision at an event hosted by the East London Humanists.
Dr Antony Lempert of the National Secular Society has been at the forefront of challenging the practice of non-therapeutic cutting of male genitalia in recent years.
The chairman of the NSS’s secular medical forum argues that it is unethical and is putting the lives of baby boys at risk.
In December, he scored a notable success when he persuaded Amazon to remove a DIY circumcision kit from its website.
The talk will be held at Wanstead Library in Spratt Hall Road on Monday, May 14.
Doors open at 7pm and refreshments will be served before a 7.30pm start.
Guests will also be invited to view an exhibition on circumcision. Entry is free.
