A charity has been gifted with a donation of £4,400 to aid the running costs of their oxygen treatment chamber.

MS Action in Waltham Park Way, Walthamstow offers the chamber for free to people suffering from multiple sclerosis, autism, cerebral palsy and Parkinson’s.

Patients recovering from cancer and strokes can also avail of the service.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation and London Masons donated the money for the chamber which annually costs £1,000 to service and £8,000 for oxygen.

Deddie Peacock, treasurer at MS Action in Walthamstow, said in addition to running costs, the charity needs to buy hoses and masks throughout the year.

She called support offered by MCF and London Masons “invaluable”.

London Freemasons’ charity steward Tony Shields added: “Our members are delighted to support this very worthwhile trust as they provide positive help to some of our city’s most vulnerable adults.”
