Three men were arrested during dawn raids after two people were shot in October.

Police stormed into homes across east London today and arrested a man, 31, from Northumberland Road, Walthamstow, and a 31-year-old man from Adams Road, Tottenham.

They also arrested a 19-year-old from Theobold Road, Tottenham.

They were arrested after a shooting in Rigg Approach, at the junction with Lea Bridge Road on Saturday, 28 October.

Police discovered a 41-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg.

A woman, aged in her 20s, had suffered a gunshot wound to her chest.

Both were later discharged from hospital.

The 31-year-old from Walthamstow and the 19-year-old have been taken to an east London police station, while the second 31-year-old has been taken to a north London police station.

All three men remain in custody.

Detective Sergeant Leigh-Ann Barthram from the Met’s Trident Area and Crime Command said: “These warrants come following a horrendous incident and it is pure luck that there were no further victims or any fatalities.

“The people responsible for this incident are dangerous individuals that have no regard for the safety of others, clearly shown by the level of violence used. The Met is committed to taking violent individuals off of the streets of London to make a safer city for all.

“We are still appealing for information about this incident, and if anyone has any information they should contact Trident on 020 7275 5143 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
