Four children and two adults were evacuated after a fire broke out in a terraced house and spread to neighbouring homes.
The fire destroyed the roof and first floor of the house in Leytonstone’s Forest Road and damaged the ground floor.
Two adjoining properties, one which was converted into flats, were also damaged in the fire which broke out at 4.20pm on Sunday (May 20).
A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said six engines and 35 firefighters tackled the blaze which was under control shortly after 7pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
