The granddaughter of a famous suffragette is to give an interactive talk on the progress of women over the last 100 years.
Dr Helen Pankhurst, granddaughter of the leading suffragette Sylvia Pankhurst, who once lived in Redbridge, will hold a session on June 4.
In conjunction with Redbridge Council, it marks the 100-year anniversary of a law which allowed some women and all men to vote.
The event will involve discussion of how far things have come since 1918.
Dr Pankhurst is an international development and women’s rights activist and has written a book on the topics. She will be discussing her book and the experiences of those in the room.
The event will be held at Sir James Hawkey Hall, Broomhill Road, Woodford, Woodford Green, IG8 0BG and will run from 7pm until 10pm on June 4.
The event is free to attend and tickets can be reserved online.
