The public has been warned not to approach a convicted killer believed to be on the run in Essex.

On Friday (May18) Sean Gomez was released from Hollesley Bay prison in Suffolk on a temporary licence.

The 50 year-old was due to go to an address in Harlow and return to the prison on Tuesday.

He failed to return however and has now been reported missing by police.

Gomez is currently serving a six-year jail sentence after being found guilty of the manslaughter of 47-year-old father-of-two Mustafa Lanleyin in Enfield on September 29, 2015.

The father-of-two was found collapsed at the bottom of a flight of stairs at around 9.10pm, having suffered a brain haemorrhage consistent of blunt force trauma to the head.

Gomez had grabbed Mr Lanleyin and head-butted, kicked and beat him, even as he was lying on the floor, before dragging him to some nearby bins.

The prisoner is described as white, 5ft 11ins tall and of slight build. He is also clean shaven with brown hair and green eyes.

Gomez is believed to have links to Southend and Harlow.

Anyone that knows of Gomez's whereabouts, has seen him or has any other information is asked to contact Suffolk Police on 101.
