A care home has been ranked 'outstanding' to become only the second in the district to earn the Care Quality Commission's highest rating.
In a report published earlier this month the Frank Foster House in Theydon Bois was showered with praise.
During an unannounced visit on March 8 and 9 inspectors observed "exceptional standards of care" and "a committed and well-trained group of staff" who "support people in a kind and caring manner."
The report added: "Independence, privacy and dignity was promoted and respected.
"Staff took account of people's individual needs and preferences and people were encouraged to be involved in making decisions about their care."
Frank Foster House joins Home Instead Senior Care as the only 'outstanding' care providers in Epping Forest, with 22 others ranked 'good', 'requires improvement' or 'inadequate'.
Cheryl Wright, care home manager, said: "We are so very proud of this fantastic achievement at Frank Foster House.
"All our staff are incredibly passionate about providing the best personalised care as well as ensuring a comfortable, engaging and stimulating living environment for residents."
