Supporters of a St Clare Hospice are to be given an opportunity to skydive from 13,000ft.

The brave participants will be jumping in tandem to support the West Essex charity, which cares for terminally ill people in across the region.

The group skydive will take place on Saturday, September 8 at the Sibson Aerodrome, Wansford, Peterborough.

Participants will attend a short pre-jump briefing, before taking a leap of faith from an aircraft.

The skydivers will descend to 5,000ft in 40 seconds at a speed of 120mph before opening the parachute and coming back down to Earth.

During the tandem parachute fall, those taking part will get the opportunity to learn the basics of steering and landing a gliding parachute, while securely attached to an experienced instructor.

The time spent under the parachute will allow participants to enjoy breathtaking views of the area.

Registration for the challenge costs £50, with a pledge to raise £390 in sponsorship for the hospice.
