People from all corners of Waltham Forest gathered in a mosque last weekend to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, a religious holiday at the end of Ramadan.
Masjid Al Tawhid in Leyton High Road welcomed local politicians, members of the emergency services and neighbours to the party on Saturday (June 30).
Mayor of Waltham Forest, Cllr Sally Littlejohn, and council leader, Cllr Clare Cognill, were among those in attendance.
Mehmud Patel, a trustee of the mosque, gave a speech in which he thanked the community for their help and support during the busy month of Ramadan.
Eid al-Fitr which means “festival of breaking the fast” is a religious holiday when Muslims exchange gifts and cards.
It lasts for three days at the end of the Islamic holy month of fasting.
