Unemployment rates in two London boroughs have been dropping since 2011.
Figures from campaign group London Poverty show that between 2014 and 2016, 5.3 per cent of the working age population in Redbridge were unemployed; in 2011 that figure stood at 7.1 per cent.
At the same time, 7.1 per cent of Waltham Forest’s working age population was unemployed in 2011. Between 2014 and 2016 the borough’s figure fell to 5.1 per cent.
Both boroughs’ unemployment rates sit slightly above the London average.
Redbridge is 24th out of the 32 boroughs for unemployment rates whilst Waltham Forest is 20th according to these figures.
Tower Hamlets sits top with the highest unemployment rate of all London boroughs at 7.6 per cent while Hammersmith and Fulham and Wandsworth have the joint lowest at 3.5 per cent.
The data was collected for all London boroughs by an annual population survey carried out by company Nomis in conjunction with the Office of National Statistics.
