Two men were shot and a third was left with a broken leg after a drive-by shooting in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, at 2.30am today (Monday, July 9) where they found a man in his 40s suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
Officers backed up by specialist firearms colleagues also found a man in his 20s with broken leg after a vehicle was “driven at him”.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “A short time later a male aged in his 20s presented himself at an east London hospital with a gunshot injury. Officers believe this to be linked to the incident in Lea Bridge Road.
“None of those injured are in a life-threatening condition.
“It is believed shots were fired from a silver coloured vehicle, which then fled the scene.
“A number of shell casings have been recovered. A crime scene is in place. Road closures are in place.
“There are no arrests at this time. Enquiries continue.”
Officers from Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting ref 736/9 July.
