The week started off poorly for commuters stranded on the platform as the Central Line came to a halt.
For close to an hour no trains ran from Epping to Loughton due to a signal failure at Debden that started shortly before 8am.
Service has now started again, however severe delays are to be expected for some time.
In addition, there are minor delays for travellers between Loughton and Leytonstone.
One traveller, Finty Barton, took to Twitter to complain about how long she had been left waiting for a train to arrive.
She wrote: "Brilliant service @centralline only been waiting at Epping for 49 minutes now."
For Twitter user @RissaHalls, this morning's disruption was part of a larger problem.
She said: "@centralline... seriously? Has there been one day over the last three weeks where there hasn't been a train issue? No trains from Epping this time! You do realise people have jobs to get to?"

My usual Monday morning question of “How do we replan from Epping?”. We have no choice but to use your reliably unreliable service! How does this happen every single Monday morning? Check back - every Monday for weeks now!

Last week The Guardian reported on soaring rates of delay on the Central Line.
In the five years from 2013, the number of delayed trains has almost quadrupled on the Bank to Epping line.
