A man is suffering from major chest injuries following a car crash.
At 11.46pm on Saturday (July 21) emergency services arrived at Chigwell Lane in Loughton.
There they found two vehicles smashed into one another, with four people trapped inside.
Fire crews from Epping, Loughton and Waltham Abbey worked for an hour to free the crash victims, who were then left in the care of the ambulance service.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We can confirm that multiple response vehicles attended the incident and were on the scene from 11:46pm.
"Four ambulances were used to transport a total of four men to hospital.
"Two were transported to Royal London Hospital whilst the other two were transported to Whipps Cross Hospital.
"One man was reported to be suffering from major chest injuries but no other injuries have been specified."
