Two teenage boys have been arrested after an 18-year-old man was stabbed in a quiet residential street.

The victim was attacked in Walthamstow’s Tenby Street, off Blackhorse Road, this morning.

Police remain at the scene and have taped off nearby Southcote Road.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 09:24hrs on Monday, 23 July to reports of a stabbing in Tenby Road, E17.

“Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended and found an 18-year-old man suffering from stab injuries.

“He has been taken to an east London hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

“A second male, also aged 17, was arrested on suspicion of affray.”

Both boys remain in custody this afternoon and police are continuing their enquiries.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said they weere called at 9.28am and sent an incident response officer, an ambulance crew and an air ambulance to the scene. 

He added: “We treated a man at the scene and took him by road to a major trauma centre as a priority."
