A council is supporting a scheme allowing residents to buy solar panels at a cheaper price.

Waltham Forest Council is rolling out the Mayor of London’s group buying scheme to enable small businesses and homes access to the expensive kit at a bulk-buy discount.

A total of 11 London councils have already signed up to the Solar Together London scheme.

Following a successful first phase earlier this year, residents and small businesses can now register to buy high-quality panels and generate their own renewable energy making significant savings.

The scheme is part of the Mayor of London’s Energy for Londoners programme which aims to help cut air pollution and CO2 emissions by using cleaner, locally produced renewable energy.
