A cash machine was found in an abandoned cars hours after a supermarket was raided.
Shortly before 3.30am on Sunday (July 29) three men forced entry into the Aldi store on Langston Road, Loughton.
A cash machine was then removed from inside the store using a white Mitsubishi Barbarian truck.
The men left with the cash machine in a grey Audi.
Later that day at around 2.30pm, police were told by Essex County Fire and Rescue Service that an abandoned car had been set on fire on Old Road, Navestock.
Inside the vehicle they found an ATM.
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour either near to Langston Road during the early hours of Sunday, July 29, or later in the day on Old Road, Navestock, is asked to contact Loughton CID on 101, quoting incident 219 of July 29.
