A charity will hold an exhibition to showcase the latest technology and equipment available to those experiencing sight loss.
Support 4 Sight has invited organisations from across east London and Essex to offer information and advice to guests at its Low Vision exhibition.
Every day 250 people in the UK start to lose their sight.
One in five people aged 75 and over are living with sight loss, while it affects one in two people over the age of 90.
Paul Atkins, the charity’s resource centre and volunteer manager, said: “Year on year the numbers of people attending this type of event increases and we are delighted to be in Waltham Abbey to raise awareness of sight loss and how it affects thousands of people.
“The exhibition is an ideal opportunity to showcase what services are offered by Support 4 Sight and other sensory organisations.
He added: “Please come along and talk to us and the many experts on the day.”
The exhibition will take place at Waltham Abbey Scout Hall in Cornmill carpark on Thursday, September 13, from 10am to 2pm. Entry is free.
