A mum-of-two took on a gruelling 100-mile cycle through London and Surrey for a blood cancer charity.

At the end of July Victoria Williamson, 44, took on Ride London 100, the annual cycle event held in July, for charity Anthony Nolan.

The organisation finds and matches organ donors with the correct tissue type for patients with blood cancers and those needing stem cell transplants.

The Loughton based charity worker said: "My sister in law and I enjoy setting ourselves challenges so we thought we'd attempt 100 miles.

"So many people are touched by blood cancer, but Anthony Nolan isn’t as well known as some other charities.

“I feel passionate about raising awareness about Anthony Nolan, and hopefully I have managed to spread the word at least a bit by doing the ride.”

“Having had a hot summer, the wet windy weather was pretty brutal.

“Cycling on closed roads was quite an incredible experience.

"Cycling past The Tower of London felt like a strange dream.”

So far she has raised £800 for the charity.
