A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a 42-year-old man who was found stabbed to death at a property in a quiet street.

Police were called to an address in Flaxen Road, Chingford at 4.40am on Friday (August 17) to a report of a stabbing.

Officers found a 42-year-old man suffering from stab injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene at around 5.20am.

The victim has been named as Joseph Cullimore who was from Chingford.

The teenager will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates Court on Monday, August 20.

A 35-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder has been released pending further enquiries.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command led by Detective Chief Inspector Gary Holmes are investigating and continue to appeal for information and witnesses.

DCI Holmes said: "We want to hear from anyone who was in the area or within the immediate vicinity of the address to come forward.

“Equally anyone who was not there but has information on this incident is asked to contact investigators or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
