WOODFORD Wells B let a commanding lead slip to draw 5-5 with Heathcote A in West Esex League Division One.
At 4-2 up in matches, it looked like a Wells victory, particularly with Heathcote's Mitch Herber carrying an injury and was far from his best.
Despite losing losing all three of his matches, Herber's team-mates, Sal Ahmed and Steve Codrington, won the last two singles to bring the score to 5-4, before they combined in the doubles to ensure the team got a share of the spoils.
Phil Walker was in superb form for Wells but was tested to the limit when he met Ahmed. After each winning two games apiece, Walker took the tense fifth deciding game 15-13 to take the match.
Ahmed defeated Wells' Paul Pells in their match up, coming from two games behind to seal victory.
