FOR a look at two top comedy stars as you have never seen them before, settle down for an evening with Gilbert and Sullivan.

Jo Brand is about to button up a uniform and pull on a policeman's helmet to perform The Sergeant Of Police', in The Pirates of Penzance.

And what's more, funny man/impressionist Alistair McGowan, is preparing to pull on a long flowing costume for his role in The Mikado.

The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado and Iolanthe are being produced at the Gieldud Theatre for a limited five-week Gilbert and Sullivan season.

The Mikado, in which Nichola McAuliffe will perform Katisha' and Alistair McGowan The Mikado', will run from Wednesday January 30.

Iolanthe, with Maria Ewing performing as The Fairy Queen', will run from February 11 to 16.

And The Pirates of Penzance which features Jo Brand performing The Sergeant Of Police', will play complete the trilogy of comic operettas and run from February 18 to March 1.

Audiences will have the chance to enjoy the fun and musical comedy moments with songs such as 'Three Little Maids From School', 'I've Got A Little List', 'A Wandering Minstrel I', and many more.

The Carl Rosa Opera company's West End season of Gilbert & Sullivan will be presented by Raymond Gubbay.
