(Essex Girls League U13s)

THE Redbridge defenders held firm for the first 20 minutes until Maldon, with the high wind behind them, scored a fine goal.

Redbridge continued to defend with Abigail McBride and Emma Leither holding strong and eventually some good moves by Rai Stevens forced the ball to Jodie Williams who scored with a left-foot drive.

The second half started with Redbridge's Kayleigh Stevens and Nicky Charalambous running hard to support Rai Stevens up front.

The interplay between the hosts' Williams and McBride brought Maria De Ferry into play on the right who scored with a long-range shot.

Redbridge seemed to have the match won when Gemma Power gained possession from a Maldon forward and scored from 30 yards with a high drive.

But a penalty and a very late equaliser saw the visitors snatch a share the points.

Redbridge Ladies 1 Island Girls 2
(Essex Girls Plate Competition U11s) REDBRIDGE battled well in difficult conditions after going two goals behind.

They pulled a goal back when Brown scored direct from a corner but, despite almost constant pressure, could not get the equaliser.

Buckhurst Hill A 0 Barking Colts 2
(Echo League U9s) BARKING were quickly on the attack and took an early lead as Hill played against the wind.

The hosts made a couple of changes at half-time and tried to take the game to Barking.

Ryan Mooney came the closest to opening the scoring for the home side when her well-hit shot was pushed on to the bar by the Barking keeper.

The visitors scored a second goal late on in the match.

(Chelmsford Youth League U10s) WEALD Bassett took a first-half lead through Jackson and went further ahead after the break when Wilson scored. Basset's MoM: Koczan. Ryan 8 Vicky Park 6
(Waltham Forest League U12s) VICKY went 3-0 up in ten minutes and when they hit a fourth the game looked over.

As the half wore on Ryan captain Ahmed hit a long drive to reduce the arrears helping his side to reach the break on top but deflated by the 4 - 1 scoreline.

The second half produced another two goals in a five-minute spell but it was Vicky who seemed to finish the match as a contest with a storming 6-1 lead.

Ryan looked shell-shocked but positive Cardo was tripped in the box and Fuller fired home.

That gave them hope but Vicky again went close as York saved well.

Both Ryan substitutes came on to lift the team. Cardo found a way through to fire home, then a Roberts drive curled in from way out.

Ryan were now rampant and a long shot from Gough thumped the bar and Cardo reacted to hit home.

Ryan's passion was amazing when Maloney powered forward and smashed home to equalise.

Ryan's Morris chipped home for 7-6 and with a minute left Ahmed again fired a rocket through the bodies to complete a magnificent comeback.

Buckhurst Hill 1 Loughton 1
(Echo Premier League U13s) HILL struck first when a wind assisted corner was parried by the Loughton keeper into the path of Kempner who tapped the ball into the net.

The second half saw Loughton with the wind on their backs and a long-range speculative shot flew into the Hill goal to level.

With so many friends playing for either side this was a hard-fought game played in the true spirit of the game. Hill's MoM: Young.

St Mary's Parish 2 Waltham Forest United 3
(Cheshunt League U14s) FOREST were two goals down after ten minutes fbefore hitting hitting home three goals from Kieran (two) and Craig to win. Leaside 1 Debden Sports 5
(Echo League U12s) DEBDEN went ahead with two early goals from Freddie Sumsion after being set up by Jamie Addo and Robert Sharp.

The visitors were in control and both Kieran Whitehead and Ciaran Simpson had shots well saved.

Debden's Jack Fuller and Alex Banjac worked hard.

Lorie Macauley scored two solo goals to add to Debden's total.

Leaside never gave up and scored from close range and could have scored again but Debden keeper Callum Brazier made a great save.

A good passing move, started by Conor Adair, led to Charlie Sumsion putting Chris Stroud clear to hit home Sports' final goal.

Southgate Adelaide 4 Buckhurst Hill 1
(Cheshunt Premier League U14s) DESPITE going a goal down after two minutes Hill had the majority of play with Ambrose hitting the bar, Chappel threatening on the left and Bishop always willing up front.

In the second half and against the wind Hill could not force too many oppportunities but worked hard with Bartlett strong in defence and Ambrose scoring Hill's only goal from the penalty spot.

Epping Youth U9 6 Waltham Abbey 0
(Harlow Youth League U9s) AFTER a slow start Epping had to work hard to control the game with Afzali and Friend defending well.

Epping took the lead through Burrell following good work from Brittaine and Flanagan.

Green got Epping's second goal after another terrific move.

The hosts played with confidence in the second half and were soon three goals up with Green again scoring with a neat finish.

Flanagan got on the scoresheet with a move involving five Epping players.

Burrell struck two late goals, his last a solo effort to bring about a convincing win.

Soccer Skills B 5 v Westward B 2
(Echo League U9s) SKILLS started brightly and Attoe opened the scoring after good work from Claydon.

The visitors equalised but in the second half, Attoe notched a well-taken hat-trick.

Although Hosier and Lachman had little to do, Westward scored a breakaway goal but further good work from Parker and Richardson set up goals for Holman and man of the match Hellen.

Brentwood Athletic A 2 Snaresbrook Youth 6
(Chelmsford League U17s) SNARESBROOK'S Josh Woodcock scored first with a penalty after a foul on Ricky Briggs.

Dave Otley added another, making the the most of a cross from Robert Caine.

Brentwood then scored but a pass from Brook's Jack Weaver gave Caine his first goal of the match.

In the second half Brentwood scored again, but Cained headed two goals in quick succession.

At 5-2 Snaresbrook didn't dare let the game slip and kept battling hard until a cross from Elliot Boakye found Woodcock who scored his second goal to round off the match.

Barking Colts 0 Woodford Youth A 2
(Echo Friendly League U7s) WITH Walters the midfield engine, Solanki the heart of defence, and Cannon driving forward, Woodford soon got into gear.

The deadlock was broken in the second half when Parsons kept her composure to lob the keeper from outside the area.

The Colts were rejuvenated by a Woodford penalty miss but joint men of the match, Lefevre and McDiarmid, kept Woodford's cleansheet.

The victory was ensured when Dady stabbed home from close range.

Woodford Youth A 8 EMH A 0
(Echo Friendly League U8s) THE Foxes started at a scorching pace and the breakthrough came when Dalby hit a low drive into the bottom right hand corner.

A second goal swiftly followed from man of the match Brislen-Hall.

Good cover work from Houssein, Palmer and keeper Rees ensured that the Foxes' defence remained unbreached.

Brislen-Hall converted a free-kick and a looping shot from Louis for Woodford also hit the back of the net.

Eva scored two late goals, Dalby earned his brace and an unfortunate own goal saw Woodford emerge victorious.

Xcel B 3 Woodford Youth B 1
(Echo Friendly League U8s) FOXES struggled to cope with a well organised Xcel team who won every 50-50 challenge.

The home side had a 2-0 half-time lead thanks to a pair of well-taken goals.

Woodford's Anamole, man of the match Ryan and Williams in midfield worked hard in this period.

Xcel made it 3-0 within a minute of the restart.

Woodford's players did not drop their heads. Hinds provided energy and a Spark cross resulted in an unfortunate Xcel own-goal.

Waltham Forest 5 Woodford Youth B 0
(Echo League U9s) FOREST kept the ball well with Woodford lacking a killer pass.

As much as all the boys tried hard they were outplayed and out muscled by Forest. Woodford's MoM: Dolan.

Woodford Youth C 2 EMH A 2
(Echo League U10S) WOODFORD took the game to the EMH with great passing between Hepworth, Snell and Meakin but the visitors defended well.

However the visitors took the lead then doubled it with an impressive lob over the keeper.

In the second half, man of the match Paul superbly converted a free-kick to lift the Foxes.

Hepworth calmly squared the ball for Beswick to blast in his first Woodford goal to end the match honours even.

Woodford Youth D 11 Bealonians B 1
(Echo League U11) IT WAS a struggle for Woodford to find any rhythm until Green slotted home from the edge of the box.

This quickly turned to 2-0 with an excellent goal from Dady. Garber made it three but a lapse of concentration allowed the visitors to score.

In the second half, Garber netted another three and Adjei scored four, Sooriyacumar added another. Woodford's MoM: Dady.

Heath Park 3 Woodford Youth 3
(Friendly U13s) SLOPPY marking in the Foxes defence saw Park take the lead and double it minutes later.

Woodford got into their stride and a move starting with a Philips pass ended with a well-executed chip into the net from Cocks.

Bell then equalised but Park went into half-time with a 3-2 lead.

The second half saw chances for both sides, but a last gasp penalty from Woodford's Eldridge saw the game finish honours even.

Excel A 0 v Buckhurst Hill A 0
(Echo League U8s) IN the first half both teams had plenty of chances with attempts on goal from Cuthbert and Pike, but Buckhurst Hill had more possession.

The second half almost saw a goal for Hill when Madden's lob hit the bar.

Excel battled and visiting keeper Madden was kept busy.

Hill's work rate was superb. The whole team dug deep and played outstandingly.

Ridgeway Rovers White 4 EMH Black 0
(Echo League U7s) RIDGEWAY took the lead in the opening seconds with Callum Waite winning the ball and then passing quickly for Ben Harris to run through and score.

The hosts spent the next ten minutes defending, but broke again from a throw-in for Harry Best to score just before halftime.

Ridgeway played some excellent football in the second period with Callum Waite scoring a third goal and Harris getting his second.

EMH had a great opportunity to score a goal in the last couple of minutes but they were thwarted by an excellent save from Tom Roberts.
