HIGHAMS PARK: Secret film pervert spared jail

A PERVERT who secretly filmed a naked woman as she slept has been spared jail.

Paul Slowgrove arranged his victim's body in an erotic pose before recording her on a web cam. She woke up to find the 46-year-old moving her limbs and filming her.

The distressed woman, who cannot be named, called police and officers later found a pornographic photo of a child at the 46-year-old's home in Selwyn Avenue, Highams Park.

After being arrested Slowgrove, who was raised in Walthamstow, denied intending to show the film to anyone else.

Alexander Milne, prosecuting, said two short films were found on the web cam, dating from August, 2004.

The barrister said: "He denied that he would have done anything without her consent."

William Maley, mitigating, said there was no evidence of a working internet connection at Slowgrove's home.

"It was a simple act of recording, but with no evidence that it was shown to anyone else," he added.

Slowgrove, who now lives in Romford, pleaded guilty to voyeurism and was convicted of making and possessing an indecent image of a child.

Judge Simon Wilkinson sentenced him to three years' supervision involving a sex offenders' programme.

Referring to the video, he said: "There was an element of a breach of trust and an aggravating feature is that you made a recording.

"No doubt she would have taken exception to the fact that she was asleep and you re-arranged her body so it became a somewhat compromising image."
