SPURS defender Pascal Chimbonda looks to be heading for a move to Newcastle after his agent confirmed that the St James Park outfit have registered an interest in his client.
Juande Ramos has not been convinced by the French international and was left unimpressed at his strop in the Carling Cup final last month, when he stormed straight down the tunnel at Wembley after being substituted.
Magpies boss Kevin Keegan could however keep the controversial Frenchman in English football by making a move for him this summer, although according to agent Roger Boli he is still willing to listen to offers of a new contract at White Hart Lane as well.
"We expect to discuss a contract extension for Pascal. It all depends on Spurs' directors," Boli told Setanta Sports. "It's up to them to decide if they want to keep him or not. I'm optimistic on both options.
"The first one would be Pascal being offered a new deal and the second one would see him being transferred by Spurs. Newcastle's offer was serious, but they are in a bizarre situation.
"I don't know if Kevin Keegan will stay at the club next season."
