GREEK trialist Nikos Karelis scored two goals as he helped Arsenal's Under 16's side to victory in the Atalanta Tournament.

Karelis, who plays for Greek outfit Ergotelis, is primarily a forward but played the latter part of the tournament on the left wing, and demonstrated his excellent technique and power with some encouraging displays.

However, it is not known whether youth coaches Liam Brady and David Court will pursue the player as his stamina and physical conditioning were called into question during the tournament.

Nevertheless, Karelis will join the squad tomorrow for training and will await a decision on his future, but admitted that he relished the chance to play with some of the country's finest youngsters.

"It was a tremendous experience for me playing at such a high level of football and with some footballers who will be the stars of the future," Karelis told Youngguns.com "I haven't been told anything about the outcome of my trial but Arsenal will speak to my parents and my club about it soon".
