MARKS and Spencer has today announced plans to open a Simply Food store in Epping.
The announcement follows the acquisition of the Co-operative store in the High Street.
M&S will take over the 12,000sq.ft unit from The Co-operative when all 25 employees currently working at the store will transfer to M&S employment.
During the refit, all employees will undertake full training at the M&S Simply Food store in Loughton High Road.
Marks and Spencer regional manager Simon Blair said: "We're delighted to be opening a store in Epping, which we are confident local shoppers will welcome with open arms.
"Not only will it allow us to offer customers a fantastic choice of quality M&S products, it will also create a substantial number of new jobs for the area."
The new Simply Food store will offer a modern food hall with contemporary interior design.
The store will stock a wide range of quality food products including ready meals, fresh produce, sandwiches, salads, snacks and a comprehensive selection of wine and champagne.
Other highlights include a bakery offering a selection of treats in the form of pastries, cakes and crusty breads, baked in-store each day.
Along with the wide assortment of food and drink, the store will offer cards, stationery, toiletries and gifts.
