CELTIC and Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc is the subject of a north London tug-of-war with both Tottenham and Arsenal preparing bids for the player, according to media reports.

The two clubs are in the market for a new number one this summer and the Pole, currently representing his country at Euro 2008, has caught the attention of both managers.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of stoppers in recent weeks with Jens Lehmann having signed for German club Stuttgart and Manuel Almunia failing to establish his place in the team.

Reserve keeper Lukasz Fabiañski played in the last few games of Arsenal's season but could soon competition from Boruc at both club and international level.

Arsene Wenger was present at Poland's 2-0 loss to Germany on Sunday evening to personally run his eye over the player.

Tottenham will provide strong competition for his signature though as they search for a replacement for Paul Robinson who is expected to leave the club in the coming months.

With Radek Cerny having already signed a deal with QPR for next season Spurs are short of keeping options and have reportedly also made enquiries about Espanyol's Carlos Kameni and Villareal's Diego Lopez.
