BARCELONA striker Samuel Eto'o has dealt a blow to Spurs fans by confirming that he will not be making the switch to North London, Writes Iain Liddle.

Eto'o had been linked with sensational move to the Premiership with Tottenham reported to have tabled a multi-million pound bid for the player and were prepared to offer the three-time African player of the year over £100,000 a week in wages.

However the Cameroonian has dashed their hopes by stating he has no intention of moving to a "mid-table" team, although he could be tempted by Inter Milan.

"Tottenham, and I hope the English fans will forgive me, are a club in mid-table and I need more," Eto'o told Cameroon Radio Television.

"I cannot exclude the option of Inter, but I want to repeat that I still feel I am a Barcelona and that I feel under no pressure."

Eto'o is just one of the high-profile names being linked with the striking berth likely to be vacated by Dimitar Berbatov in the coming weeks.

However it seems that not even a huge salary or the lure of working with manager Juande Ramos and former-team mate Giovani Dos Santos can convince the pacey forward that his future lies in England.
