PREMIER League newcomers West Brom could bolster their chances of survival by taking Tottenham's Adel Taarabt on-loan, according to media reports, writes Iain Liddle.

The Baggies have targeted Taarabt as they seek to improve their squad ahead of next season's campaign.

Taarabt is highly rated by the Tottenham hierarchy but they are keen to let him gain experience of the physical side of the English game and a club known for playing attractive football such as West Brom would fit the bill.

Talking to the Birmingham Mail, Taarabt's agent Rudy Raba said: "West Bromwich Albion have an interest and have followed him for a long time.

"The manager at Tottenham likes him, but Adel wants to play and knows that may not be possible for some time. Mr Ramos will be told of our intentions first, but we clearly have a choice.

"Will Adel go to West Brom? It's too early to say - but the option is there."
