THE so-called 'Big Conversation' from Councillor Weinberg is just another complete consultancy sham.

Supposedly a forum for Redbridge residents to air their views on how the council should fund his proposed changes, developments being implemented without any consensus and requiring vast capital commitment.

Noticeable by it's absence however is the option 'Or vote for none of the above'.

Failing to give residents the opportunity to reject these white elephant projects that are completely unnecessary is both a failure of responsibility of those elected to represent 'us' the community and also a travesty of the supposed consultation process in light of the vast and very evident opposition to these plans, much the same as the post office's recent PR stunt in London was a forgone conclusion, just going through the motions.

Redbridge residents including many cross party councillors have already spoken out in a petition to Downing Street.

But we wouldn't expect Weinberg to read or acknowledge this. Check the recent response from Nos.10 on http://www.pm.gov.uk/output/Page15239.asp Remember, you were elected to be guardians and custodians of our borough, not to act like asset stripping fund managers.

You obviously won't be swayed by public opinion or reshuffled ex-allies, or even by current colleagues. You've now become like that other unwanted political leader Brown; a liability on a quest for infamy we can ill afford in Woodford and Redbridge.

Time to wake up and smell the coffee, Cllr Weinberg. We the people of Redbridge don't want your developments, nor your hair brained methods for funding them that will cost us every way, nor do we want you any more actually for that matter.

What will stop this man? That's surely the next big question.

Richard Walker jr, Forest Approach, Woodford Green.
