It's ten years ago this week since we reported on a contortionist was set to appear on a blockbuster TV series which she had never heard of.

Most people would bend over backwards for a part in a hit television show but a Leyton contortionist offered a role had not even heard of the series.

Jennifer Keith, of Millais Road, was contacted on her website by the producers of the hugely popular TV programme Game of Thrones to appear in the show’s third season in June last year.

The series is set to air next month in England but the 25-year-old, who will play a contortionist prostitute, had not even heard of the show, watched by hundreds of thousands of people in the UK.

Miss Keith, also known by her stage name of Pixie Le Knot, said: “My friends were shocked but I had no idea what the show was. Fantasy isn’t really my thing to be honest.

“I emailed back quite bluntly asking the fee, which is what made me decide to do it.”

Miss Keith did the stunts for the main character in exorcism film The Devil Inside in 2012, and is set to appear in a nationwide ad campaign promoting the new series of Britain’s Got Talent soon.

But none of that prepared her for the sheer extent of the multi-million dollar production of Game of Thrones, which follows the rivalries between several noble houses of a fictional land.

The former circus performer, who has toured the UK with Zippo’s Circus, was flown to a castle in Belfast for four days last August for the shoot.

She said: “It was really good fun. The size was pretty mad, there were trailers everywhere and scenes being shot. It was incredible because I was put up in nice hotels and had my own trailer and everything.

“It was the hardest shoot I’ve ever done though. They wanted it from every single angle to get all the characters in. It felt like we did 40 takes, and for each one I had my legs bent over my head.

“There were 30 crew members all around you too all making notes and checking continuity.”

Though she has no lines, the production team spent a day with her rehearsing the scene, and Miss Keith hopes she could do more acting in the future.

She said: “It was really different to anything I’ve done before, which is mostly being someone’s double.

“I’d love to do more but I think it’d have to be to do with contortion. If it was just acting I don’t think I could do it.”

The series will premiere on Sky Atlantic on Monday, April 1.
