Sixty-eight years separate these pictures of Chingford Mount
F W Woolworth on the right, was first established in America by Frank Winfield Woolworth in 1879 when he opened his first store in New York.
By 1909 Woolworths reached the UK selling children's clothing, stationery and toys.
Sadly all stores closed by 2009. For a time, the Chingford store became Poundland before being gutted by fire in 2017.
