THEYDON BOIS: Millionaire denies sexual assault

MULTI-millionaire businessman David Sullivan has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 25-year old woman.

Mr Sullivan, 59, a soft porn entrepreneur and chairman of Birmingham City football club confirmed he voluntarily attended a police station following an allegation made by the woman from east London.

Police confirmed the woman contacted them in the early hours of Tuesday morning (June 2) to report that she had been assaulted at Mr Sullivan's mansion in Theydon Bois on Monday evening.

A spokesman for Birmingham City confirmed the reports, saying: "David Sullivan confirms that he voluntarily attended a Police Station yesterday following an allegation made against him and gave a 30 minute interview in which he provided the Police with a full explanation of the circumstances.

She added: "He categorically denies the allegation which centres around consensual sexual touching. The allegation is totally without foundation."

Essex Police have confirmed they are looking into the allegations.

A spokesman said: "Detectives arrested a 59-year old man from the Epping area on suspicion of committing sexual touching and subsequently released him on Police bail until Thursday, August 28 pending further inquiries."

A representative for Mr Sullivan denied reports that DNA swabs were taken and clothing was removed from his home.
