The train line from Liverpool Street actually arrived in 1873 to a small terminus at Kings Road but it wasn’t until 1878 that the line was extended by 600 yards to its current position.
A special event is taking place from 11am on November 19, 2023 at Chingford Station Community Hub to mark the occasion. Visit: chingfordhistory.org.uk for more details.
