THE Kam Bains' School of Martial Arts hosted its first Kick-It tournament of the year when more than 130 competitors took part.

Students from both Dartford and Gravesend venues did their instructor proud as the host school won the overall event ahead of Molineux, of Wolverhampton, and Addlestone & Bracknell.

Assistant instructor Dale Campbell was the first to put the Bains school on the scoreboard by winning bronze in the men's blue-belt patterns section.

Kam then took to the floor and won a silver in the black-belt heavyweight section, missing out on gold by a single point.

Other medalists: Justine Piper (bronze); Taran Lally (gold), Enita Kang (bronze), Chloe Piper (silver), Taman Lally (gold), Paul Carter (silver), Oliver Lord (gold), David Hancock (silver) and Joe Fallarino (gold); Rob Doughty, (gold), Warren Manuel (bronze) and Alan Doughty a silver.

The peewee division, for under- 5s, saw Bains' three youngest members compete among themselves in a round-robin, which Eliza Tyler won.

The school trains Mondays and Wednesdays in Dartford and Fridays in Gravesend. Anyone wishing to join classes or more details, should call 07947 486157 or email: KBSOMA@aol.com
